Light becomes an active material
In selected works, artificial LED light is not an external spotlight and not a decorative addition. It is placed within the physical construction of the artwork, where it reveals edges, cavities and intervals that would otherwise remain latent.
This creates two connected states: a relief shaped by daylight and a luminous presence that emerges in controlled or evening light. The artwork remains physically still, yet its perception changes with illumination and the viewer’s position.
A further step in the research into kinetics, space, light and matter
Integrated light extends the Studio’s investigation beyond the projected surface. Colour, material depth and shadow interact with an immaterial element, producing a perceptual form of movement without motors or mechanical devices.
The aim is not to imitate a lighting object. The LED source belongs to the composition and is calibrated so that the work continues to function as a unique handmade artwork both when illuminated and when switched off.
Power and architectural integration
Current illuminated works can be powered by AAA batteries and controlled by an on/off switch. This makes installation possible without visible wiring in many existing interiors.
For new-build or renovation projects where cables can be routed behind the artwork, the LED system can also be prepared for connection to the building electrical installation. Final electrical connection and compliance must be coordinated with the project team and carried out by a qualified professional.
